February 19, 2007Stay Young
Nothing to lose is a path you can choose
And it feels just right at the time. Then one day you awake with a fear you can't shake; You're an actor forgetting your lines. You were a star when you started, So bright eyed and ready, But now you just can't seem to shine. Nothing to lose is a path that you choose And it feels just right at the time. But can you still remember your very first kiss Or the future you hoped for when we were still kids? Stay young, stay young. There are constants like gravity, heartbreak and shame. You can never out-run them; they're part of your name Like lessons you learn from a past you can't change, Stay young, stay young. For a lifetime of paying dues and ruthless reviews, Yeah, it's hard not to end up a cynic When everyone's too scared to walk in your shoes But can work up the nerve to be critics. Oh, can you still remember your very first kiss Or the future you hoped for when we were still kids? Stay young, stay young - No, don't lose you heart. Don't lose your soul. Don't give up control... It's the business end of a loaded gun, Facing tomorrows of black, useless lungs With nothing but lies left on tips of our tongues. Stay young, stay young! Oh, can you still remember your very first kiss Or the future you hoped for when we were still kids Trying to keep up our innocence in this fucked up world? Stay young, stay young... Stay young, stay young... Stay young... Nothing to lose is a path you can choose And it feels just right at the time. Then one day you awake with a fear you can't shake; You're an actor forgetting your lines. ---Strata New album coming SOON... and you will fall in love with it. I promise.

February 17, 2007Back from the Dir En Grey/Bleed The Dream tour.
So my time on the Dir En Grey/BTD tour has come to an end. I've been back in NYC for a couple of days, and miss the tour dearly. I had one hell of a time.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the shows, and to those who came by merch to say hello and introduce yourselves to me. Terribly sorry if you caught me during the rush and I didn't get a chance to talk to you much at all, but merch gets INSANE during the encore and after the show. It's time to relax for a bit until I return to Los Angeles soon... for more work and, if all goes well with budget issues, I will be back on the road starting mid-March... ;) I hope all of you are well.

February 13, 2007Dir En Grey/Bleed The Dream tour- Day 2 & 3
Sooo. I ended up going out on my day off after all (other than the mall). Good ol' band and crew hangtime. Bars and strip clubs...
...and having drinking competitions with part of crew. Not sure how I crawled to my bunk when we returned. I woke up early today in Detroit... too a nap in the front lounge, then woke up again for load-in. Detroit was alright. Not as insane as the bigger shows, but still sold out and cool... I know. Not much of an update. Been on my feet all day. Tired. Chicago when I wake... and I'm making HeyChris come out so he can make fun of everything and keep me amused. P.S. Keith Bleeds sprained his ankle last night. So if you have him or the band on myspace, wish his ankle well!

February 11, 2007Dir En Grey/Bleed The Dream tour - Day 1 and 2
Okay, so now that I am more awake....
First of all, I knew Dir En Grey were big, especially in Japan, but not nearly as big as they are over here. I leaned all of this yesterday as I met up with the rest of the crew and realized there were two busses: one for band (and a couple crew members) and one for the rest of the crew, a translator on the tour, countless amounts of merch on display with so much more in stock next door to us planning on being used, and a SOLD OUT show at the gigantic Nokia Theatre-- a place where a band like Panic! At The Disco would play these days. I helped finish setting up the merch and leaning what each CD and DVD was, the prices, where catering was, etc. So. Bleed The Dream is on this tour, which was going to be my sort of "comfort blanket." A couple of those guys are my friends, so the entire tour wasn't going to be too unfamiliar to me. Well, as it turned out, some of Dope's old techs from waaaay back in the day, and some of Mudvayne's old techs are also working with Dir En Grey.... ...So everything turned out to be extremely comfortable extremely fast. Plus even the crew members I didn't know at all from previous band tours are still really rad. By the middle of Bleed's set (who went on first), we already sold almost all of the shirts we had for display (about 80 or so). We needed more for stock. It was mad crazy like this until Dir En Grey began-- that was break time for me and the two other merch people (because yes, this band needs more than one merch person). We took turns grabbing catering from the band dressing room and returning to the merch table to all eat together, only having to deal with one or two customers during our band's set. During the 15 minute break before encore, it was time to get swamped again... but not nearly as bad as what I witnessed and dealt with after the show. Like I said in the previous entry, I've never worked a tour this big (minus Warped, but we weren't selling merch on that tour, so that doesn't really count). By the end of the night, we had made over $20k. According to the venue, that is how much they normally make, in average, in 3 nights there. They were so shocked and in disbelief, but all of our paperwork and cash obviously matched up. After counting out with the venue and loading the merch back out, it was immediately time to hop on the bus and start heading for Pittsburgh, PA (to spend our day off). I stayed up for a while with the crew, sifting through channels on the TV and just chillin... crawled up to my top bunk and passed out around 4 am eastern time. So here I am in Pittsburgh. I pretty much just woke up... there is snow outside, which is going to suck when I have to go outside of the bus to get to our shower room in this hotel later....

Dir En Grey/Bleed The Dream tour-- end of day 1
I'm. So. Tired.
But the tour is fantaaaaastic, just nuts. Not used to dealing with $20k a night. Will write more tomorrow. Must sleep now.

February 8, 2007Apparently I should go back to China, hahaha
Kids,
If you are going to waste everyone's time (yes, including your own) by lurking my Buzznet and leaving 'hate' comments... Let me give you a word of advice: If you are going to try to insult me by my nationality and country, get your facts straight first. I am not Chinese, nor do I come from China. Thank you; goodnight. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

February 1, 2007'The Kill' Will Never Die30 SECONDS TO MARS SETS MODERN ROCK RADIO RECORD Certified Platinum Virgin Record's Album 'A BEAUTIFUL LIE' Rolls On With Video/Radio Hit 'From Yesterday' Band Co-Headline 'Taste Of Chaos' Tour 2007 NEW YORK – With a record-setting run of 50 weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock airplay chart and counting, "The Kill," by Virgin Records platinum rock quartet 30 SECONDS TO MARS is now the longest-running hit in the history of the Modern Rock chart, which first started monitoring in 1988. "The Kill," was the second single from the certified platinum release A BEAUTIFUL LIE, the band's second album, which came out on August 30, 2005. Combining a passionate performance and imagery that paid homage to the Stephen King / Stanley Kubrick film classic The Shining, the video clip of "The Kill" won the band a series of awards and nominations from MTV, FUSE, mtvU, and Billboard. The smash hit peaked at No. 3 on the Modern Rock chart. Having been touring since before the albums release, making stops on Warped, Bamboozle, Lollapalooza and headlining the MTV2 $2 Bill Welcome To The Universe Tour, it should be no surprise that 30 SECONDS TO MARS is marking this new career milestone when they co-headline the Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour, which will take them coast-to-coast through the United States and Canada through early April. The current single by 30 SECONDS TO MARS, "From Yesterday," maintains its dominant position in the Modern Rock Top 10 and is continuing to climb the charts. The Fourteen-minute epic short film / video of "From Yesterday," was the first American music video shot entirely in the People's Republic of China. "From Yesterday" was, like "The Kill," directed by reclusive Bartholomew Cubbins, framing a cast of hundreds of warriors, acrobats, eunuchs, and even fireworks in a massive, expressive display of art, culture and storytelling. The Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour kicks off February 15th in Everett, WA. They will also be doing other headlining shows throughout the country. For complete dates, visit the tour page here.
