A busy Sarah is a happy Sarah.

Some of you might have caught on, but I like to keep myself busy. It can be stressful as all hell, but overall, it makes me happy.

Let's see... What do I have for you kids today...

Oh! If you haven't already, go check out even more images from one of my photographers, Brian DeMint/Eyeworks Photography...

You can find more on my website here.

Last night was opening night of "Porn and Punchlines/XXX Nasty Show". For those of you who haven't heard what that is, here was the low-down:

One of my comedian friends, Adam Hunter, had decided to collaborate with comedian KC Armstrong (from the Howard Stern Show) and pornstar Tee Reel in creating a show full of dirty comics and pornstars. The idea behind it was to have it every Friday night at midnight at the world famous Laugh Factory (which some of you might have caught on-- has recently become one of my 'second homes,' haha). We would have to see how opening night went first, but it was a cool idea.

Where do I come in on this? Adam had asked me to design his flyers for it, as well as be one of his official promoters for the show.

So opening night last night was fun. Overall, it was a good show. We turned Friday nights at midnight there (that usually have almost zero appearance) into a happenin' spot. I have yet to receive the exact numbers, but from the looks of it, I want to say we had a little over a hundred people show up-- which for a comedy show ESPECIALLY at that peak time, isn't bad at all.

Our comedic lineup consisted of Adam Hunter, KC Armstrong, [one of my favorites] The Greg Wilson, Yoshi, Corey Holcomb, and yes, the Ron Jeremy. We also threw in a few pornstars between the comedians' sets for some good measure. They told a few of their jokes for a couple minutes.

My only complaint about 'our' show last night was that it was hectic as all hell getting everybody in and taken care of. Doors were extremely late, and there were a few mess-ups with the comp'd at discount lists. Oi. But other than that... it was a great show.

Since I never really stop working, somewhere in that mix, I ended up talking to a girl who was in need of a website design. We chatted and exchanged info. One of my other comedian friends, Jay Davis (some of you may have seen him on HBO'S Dane Cook's Tourgasm-- which, might I also add, I feel doesn't do him justice) came to check out the show, as well. Afterwards, we're hanging out outside and chatting away about music and whatnot. Jay has what we call, "J[ay]DD." He's very... all over the place. Next thing I know, he's asking me to design some of his stuff again in the near future. Ah, I love that kid.

Speaking of work, I was recently hired onto an independent management company/label... as staff artist. They can pay; I am still freelance (meaning I can still work with other companies, labels, artists, etc.); and I still get to work from home. No more corporate offices for me! Things are going well so far, and my boss with this company seems pretty cool and laid-back. Not only that, but he apparently has been referring me to every band that calls him and needs a designer, because yesterday I ended up with a good handful of calls from various bands' managers about it (both national and smaller bands).

I'm about to do some traveling again. I am confirmed for Arizona in late September and early October; I might be in New York in mid and late October; and possibly Japan and Thailand in November!

Oh, and for those wondering, Dravin and I got the new apartment we wanted. We move in at the end of this month!

Massive updates.

Hey everyone,

I know I've been kind of slacking on posts in my public journals/blogs. I've been quite the busy bee lately with all sorts of fun little projects and things. Where do I even begin?

I know I haven't kept up with my Q&A's... BUT, don't worry, all of the questions you guys have been submitting WILL be answered SOON. We (myself, E, Meghan Mayhem, Alicia Simmons, HeyChris, and Eliza Cuts) will have a surprise for you soon. Hopefully by the end of this month at the very latest! ;)

I attended a red carpet fashion show last weekend for designer GLAZA. It was pretty amazing. The re-launch was all of these Victorian-like designs-- I loved it! The night was full of Rock songs remixed with Rap songs that were actually pretty cool, video crew everywhere (one of which stopped and asked for some footage of me to record my outfit. Who knows where that one's going to end up), and quite the wonderful and talented photographer, Elias Tahan, who, as it turns out, just so happens to be a fan of my work, as well. Here are a few of the photos he snapped. (Click for larger versions):

I was also recently approached by guitar company Halo Guitars to not only do a bit of designing for them in the future, but they also asked me to be one of their "Halo Gals" (models). I accepted. You can see me on the site here (click "Gals"). We did a quick last-minute shoot with some of the older guitar models last week...

(w/Scott from the band, Rikets)

...I will be doing a better planned shoot later this month with a photographer who has apparently worked with quite a few big-names such as Marilyn Manson and U2. I will also be modeling off some of the new guitar models that will have just finished production. It's pretty exciting. The company will start putting me in some of their online AND (print) magazine ads. There is also talk about putting me in one of their upcoming calendars.

Speaking of modeling things, one of my Midwest photographers, the ever so talented Brian DeMint/Eyeworks has sent me a few more from our recent shoots. Click for larger versions:

I have also been busy with the comedy industry. I was recently hired by one of my comedian friends, Adam Hunter (MySpace here), to not only design one of his show flyers, but I was also officially hired as one of his promoters.

Basically, his nights will be full of dirty comics, along with pornstars who will be telling jokes for a few minutes between the comics' sets and giving out their porn. These nights will be on Fridays at the world famous Hollywood Laugh Factory-- the midnight shows. Our premiere night is next Friday, August 11th. Hosts Adam Hunter and KC Armstrong (formerly of the Howard Stern Show), a handful of pornstars, comics Yoshi, Russell Peters, The Greg Wilson (MTV, VH1, etc-- I love this guy!), Corey Holcomb (MTV, Last Comic Standing), a guest appearance by Tee Reel (porn director guy), and a guest appearance by Ron Jeremy.

On a slightly more "personal" level, I have also been on the hunt for a new apartment. Dravin and I are lookin' to live together. Wish us luck! This weekend is going to be a hectic one. Making more stops at more fashion shows...
